Houston, TX — (April 2, 2012) – “DREAMS AWAKE” has been confirmed as an Official Selection at the 45th Annual WorldFest-Houston International Film and Video Festival this month. The world premiere will screen on Thursday, April 19th at 7pm.
DREAMS AWAKE has also been nominated to receive one of the prestigious REMI awards in one of the feature film categories at WorldFest 2012. The WorldFest REMI Award is named after the great Western Artist Frederick Remington, who captured the spirit of Texas and The American West with his remarkable paintings and sculptures.
The director, Jerry Alden Deal, will personally present his film DREAMS AWAKE, and then will conduct a “Question and Answer” session immediately following the screening with the star Erin Gray, which will be at the Flagship AMC Studio 30 Theatres at 2949 Dunvale in SW Houston at 7PM on April 19th.
The film stars Erin Gray, Gary Graham, and Tim O’Connor. Gray is known primarily for her lead roles in the TV series “Silver Spoons” and “Buck Rogers in the 25th Century,” but has also appeared in several other TV series’ and indie films. Graham starred in the TV series “Alien Nation” and “Star Trek Enterprise,” along with roles in a number of indie films. O’Connor came out of retirement to cap off his long career, which included starring opposite Erin Gray in “Buck Rogers,” as well as numerous roles dating back to the 1950’s. He is primarily known for his role in the 1960’s TV series “Peyton Place.”
The film story’s logline reads: “While on vacation a disconnected family gets stranded near mystical Mt. Shasta and gets more than they could have ever bargained for. A glimpse into the subtle but intense possibilities of the human spirit, this spiritual drama delves into that magical lore between reality and illusions, dreams and awake, and life and immortality.”
