I really hadn’t planned on continuing down this discussion line for a third time, but with the comments and emails I have been getting, well…I figured I’d take another step down this path.  But in a little different way, one that may get your wondering what this film is actually about, by offering  little more from the film for you to chew on.

“Immortal life is an awakening, because there’s a lot more to being awake than just being physically alive” – Ambrose

In “Dreams Awake”, the Ambrose character is the wizardly sage who lives on Mt. Shasta, and who periodically dispenses ‘words of wisdom’ to other characters in the film.  But he does so with a little bit of a twinkle in his eye, as if hinting to the audience that maybe they could be interested in what he has to say.  Needless to say, it is Ambrose who is the catalyst for the film’s spiritual communication, which hopefully sparks more conversation and consideration about what the film is actually trying to communicate.  It certainly does for the other characters, in different ways for each of them.  Will that be the same for each of you?

“The real civilizations are on the stars. They only dream the planets.” – Ambrose

As you can see Ambrose, at first glance, may seem a bit out there.  But that is how the story is sparked.  He lights the fuse that drives us towards a temporary resolution.  One the main character, Hope, must carry through the film, for ultimately it is her story.  One she must figure out for herself on her own personal journey.  Will that spark a story from your life, or get you thinking about your personal journey through life?

“Many will claim to know the way and offer to lead you, but the only true path is within your own being.” – Ambrose

Ambrose reiterates what a number of spiritual leaders have hinted at throughout the ages, but yet it seems to be a mistake many of us continually repeat.  Partially because that is not how spirituality is sold to us by modern traditional religion.  In fact, what this quote says actually seems truly frowned upon, as we are told there is someone or some doctrine we must specifically follow to find the ‘right’ way, spiritually (or religiously) speaking.  Which way are you going, if at all?

“Remember to drink from the River of Life, the Song of Songs, as often as you can.” – Ambrose

This last one is a bit more obscure and without the proper context could be hard to decipher.  I will leave you with this final quote from the film, probably making you wonder … what is this film really about, and is there actually anything I can get out of it?  We shall all see soon…
