Over the course of this film’s journey from idea to execution, I’ve mentioned several times the issues the film attempts to touch upon, take on, and finally, leave open to interpretation. I have not always been exactly clear about what these issues are, and some of you have taken me to task to explain what I mean. I have by design previously only intimated what they were, but I think now I’ll be more specific. But not so specific as to give away any plot points, which was my original reason for being so vague. So don’t worry; no need for spoiler alerts here.
Immortality – This is obviously a lofty thing to take on, and complicated to boot. Normally within the confines and control of religious and philosophical thought (although science would certainly like to take it on), which right away becomes part of the film’s point and leading to one of the world’s eternal questions: ‘who am I?’. And like I said a few posts back, that question leads to at least two more; ‘where do I come from?’ and ‘where am I going?’ along the path of this so-long, so-challenging, yet so-potential filled, journey of life.
Inner Child – Most of us know about the psychological practice of healing our ‘inner child’, usually related to trauma we’ve experienced as children and which goes on to affect us as adults if not dealt with. I won’t go into all the complexities here, except we attempt to touch upon the spiritual side of ‘inner child work’ as well. In fact, this situation is one of the main drivers of the film’s plotline, something it seems a lot of people can relate to in their own lives.
Mt. Shasta – Oh yes, the mystical mountain of Shasta. Of course, I’ve mentioned it quite a bit over the years. Which is to be expected, since it is where I first came up with the story idea for the film, and of course where we shot it. But mainly because of the historical mysticism of the mountain, with all its indigenous legends, psychic experiences and new age wanderings, which sadly have now turned it into an ever-expanding cottage industry. However, the film touches upon another idea for the mountain, that it could be a special place where we can each learn to look inside ourselves and access a unique spiritual key. A key only each of us can activate within ourselves, a key for spiritual evolution to the stars and beyond, a key towards spiritual immortality.
Yes, in the end, all three of these ideas relate to each other, actually forming an all-encompassing fourth idea, which is one secret I will not reveal here. That is for you to figure out for yourselves, making YOU, each of you, the fifth piece of the puzzle, tying each and every one of you into the overall theme of the film. In fact, this main theme actually connects into all the extra transmedia portal elements we will be adding to the experience of the film, possibly making this an ongoing personal journey, if you so choose to take it.

That seems like a lot to take on in a film. But at the very least it seems very intriguing indeed. Look forward to seeing it!
So Lou, have you seen it yet?
