We all have experienced events that don’t always go as planned. And as mentioned in my previous posting, our film was to screen in Brasov, Romania at their inaugural festival last month. Well, not all went as planned. It seems that some of the films that were supposed to play at the outdoor screen on the famous Piazza Sfatului, the central square in the middle of Brasov, had to be canceled because of weather issues. And when it came time for our screening, the winds were so high they decided at the last minute to change the screening to a tiny theater that wasn’t quite up to the standards we are probably used to here.
Anyway, the report I got was that at least 100 people were waiting to see our screening in the outdoor Plaza, but when they moved the venue they forgot to inform everyone. So only a few even showed up, in a somewhat substandard screening situation. Not exactly what I was expecting, but not much I could do about it halfway around the world. In a way I’m glad I wasn’t there, as I’m not quite sure how I would have responded or what I would have done about it anyway. So, obviously no Skyped Q & A happened at all. Oh well …
On a happier note, we recently got word that at The Indie Gathering International Film Festival, which is in Hudson, OH, we have been nominated for five more awards (in addition to our already announced award for Best Family Feature Film). These awards are Best Actress: Erin Gray as Hope, Best Actor: Gary Graham as Marcus, Best Supporting Actor: Tim O’Connor as Ambrose, Best Director, and Best Cinematography. Wow, five nominations! That could be fun. But to tell you the truth, we are just honored and humbled to be nominated.
And finally, as previously mentioned, we are in the Marbella International Film Festival in Marbella, Spain, October 3-7. We certainly plan to be there, and maybe take a little vacation while we are. And we certainly expect things to go better there than they did on Romania. This will be the seventh year of this festival, and by all accounts it seems to be a great festival. More details on that later. For now, check them out here – – http://www.marbellafilmfestival.com/
And remember, more “Dreams Awake” Screenings at both these festivals on August 18. We want to see you there!

I will look out for a screening in my area. I write movie reviews often, and this film is right up my alley. 🙂
