Monte Carlo – (December 4, 2012) – The independently produced, award-winning film, “Dreams Awake” will be the opening night, showcased film at the Monaco International Film Festival in Monte Carlo on Friday, December 7 at 8:20 pm. Since April of this year the film has garnered 15 awards at 20 different film festivals, where appreciative audiences have become more aware of its positive theme.
Director Jerry Alden Deal, his wife Executive Producer Berry Deal, Erin Gray, the star of the film, and Transmedia Producer Jay Deal, will all be attending the screening. Afterwards, their company, Way To Go Media, will be hosting an opening night gala party and reception at the world famous Hermitage Hotel for festival attendees and local Monaco socialites.
The Angel Film Awards – Monaco International Film Festival is a well-established, competitive, independent 4 day Int’l Film Festival & art house event celebrating peace, love and movies! Since its creation in 2003 the Angel Film Awards – MIFF is held in the Principality of Monaco. It is a non-profit making independent film festival, known as an elegant and glitzy affair, gaining it the reputation of the jewel in the crown of the film festival circuit.
The Film Awards Team works passionately to help worthy productions gain the publicity and recognition they deserve. Previous AFA winners have gained distribution deals and have secured finance trough the festival.
“Dreams Awake” stars Erin Gray, Gary Graham and Tim O’Connor. Gray is known primarily for her lead roles in the TV series “Silver Spoons” and “Buck Rogers in the 25th Century,” but has also appeared in several other TV series’ and indie films. Graham starred in the TV series “Alien Nation” and “Star Trek Enterprise,” along with roles in a number of indie films. O’Connor came out of retirement to cap off his long career, which included starring opposite Erin Gray in “Buck Rogers,” as well as numerous roles dating back to the 1950s. He is primarily known for his role in the 1960’s TV series “Peyton Place.”
As synopsized, “Dreams Awake” focuses on a disconnected family that gets stranded near Mt. Shasta while on vacation. Their family drama expands into a mystical adventure. Giving “a glimpse into the subtle but intense possibilities of the human spirit, the story delves into that magical lore between reality and illusion, dreams and awake, and life, death and immortality.”
